Step out the
back door onto a flag stone patio which takes you to the edge of
a 20 by 20+ foot pond designed and installed by
The Pond Professors.
Feed the
colorful Japanese Koi, who will eat right out of your hand, or
step into the crystal clear water and let them nibble around
your feet. Follow the flag stone trail up the grade to a small
foot bridge which crosses one of two 35 foot long streams which
both empty into the pond, part of the system which continuously
aerates and filters it. With the look of a natural spring,
water bubbles up, supplying these streams, five feet above the
grade of the pond. The water then rushes and cascades down
several mini-water falls, the stream on the right having one
large waterfall. Take a seat on the bench, where you find
yourself on an island of serenity between the two streams. It
is a garden island with many blooming plants and two trees.
Rest even more content in that the special rain garden built
onto the side of this magnificent feature will collect any rain
run off from your yard, and slowly add it to, and ecologically
process this water, as part of the eco-system of your pond.
Look up, to a
magnificent view of the exposed rear of your home. The master
bed room, the living room, and the entertaining room are all
directly overlooking the streams and the pond. The streams
are designed to best be heard from these windows as well, so
open your master bedroom window on a cool summer night, and let
the sound of the streams sing you to sleep.
The Pond Professors
will be at our
Parade Home on the weekends showing people how to feed the fish
and answering questions. Feeding the foot long Japaneese Koi is
exciting, and they will eat out of your hand. The pond is the
first in the Midwest, actually the first outside of California,
to use a new underwater fiber optic lighting system. This
causes the pond to glow at night into different colors.
Be sure to see
this at the Parade of Homes!!
